About Simon
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have experience of Voice and Accent teaching to both undergraduate and postgraduate Acting students at drama schools such as Rose Bruford College and the Bridge Theatre Training Company in London.
Before completing my MA, I had taught Drama and Performing Arts for 27 years. Having spent ten years as a Lecturer in Drama at Kidderminster College, I was Head of Drama at the King's School in Worcester from 1998 until 2015 after which I was a part-time Lecturer in Drama and Acting at New College, Swindon.
I previously trained as a director at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and have extensive experience as an actor and director.

Hello, I'm Simon, and whether you are an actor or a drama student, or if you have to use your voice a lot as part of your job, I can help you develop your vocal skills so that you can use your voice effectively whilst maintaining your vocal health.

MA (with Commendation) in Professional Voice Practice from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (School of Acting), Birmingham City University (2016)
PGCE Drama in Education from Birmingham Polytechnic (now BCU) (1988)
BA (Hons.) in Drama and Theatre Arts from University of Birmingham (1986)
- How much do you charge?
I charge £40 per hour for all practical subjects, and this includes the cost of studio hire. I offer a free initial consultation session with no commitment.
Book five lessons and only pay for four if payment is made in advance.
Half-hour Speech and Drama (LAMDA) lessons available for £20 per lesson.
- Where do you teach?
I offer classes in a spacious studio that I hire at a Performing Arts school close to my home in West Worcester, or an alternative space in the northern end of the city. Alternatively I can come to you if you are within a 30-mile radius of Worcester.
I can travel to you, but please note there will be a charge of 45 pence/mile to cover travelling costs.
- When are you available?
As I currently have other full-time work commitments, I am generally available on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings, subject to studio availability.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I will teach any age from 8 upwards.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I am able to prepare students for LAMDA Speech and Drama exams if desired.
I also have many years experience of teaching GCSE and 'A' level Drama,

I can coach Voice via Skype in required.
