About Alys
I’m a performing artist who has found personal growth and development through sound meditation. I graduated from a music degree and became a Kirtan Leader under Nikki Slade. I have been running community sessions for 4 years and am part of a meditation music band Sonic Journey. The regular practice of Kirtan balances the mind and the body centres creating deeper integration which benefits us in every aspect of life.

The practice involves guided meditation, breathing and mantra practice led in a call and response style. The class is open to all levels as there is no need to be of any particular ability with the voice, everyone has the gift of the voice naturally. The platform used is Zoom and therefore when you sing back in the choral response nobody else hears you because you need to be muted.

Kirtan with Alys is so simple and transformative; in just a few minutes you can forget all life's pressures and find your calm space. You don't even need to be able to sing well.

Anyone can sing Kirtan. In ancient Sanskrit language, you simply repeat the line just sung; there is no judgement, only bliss.
