About Arun
Hi! I am Arun, a passionate chess competitor, professional coach, and the founder of Vibewith Chess. My journey in the game has taken me from local club matches to becoming the Under-25 District Champion and an SGFI National Silver Medalist.
Achieving a FIDE rating of 1759 and crossing the elite 2400+ mark on Chess.com required years of intense dedication, pattern recognition, and objective calculation—skills I absolutely love passing on to my students.
My approach to chess is deeply analytical. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Data Science, and that structured, logical mindset directly influences how I teach the game. I don't just ask students to memorize opening lines; we break down the "data" of the board, evaluating positions with pure logic and precision to find the best possible plans.
Beyond the chessboard, I believe in the power of a disciplined routine. I am a dedicated early riser, starting my days at 4:30 AM with physical training. This focus translates directly into my coaching: I am punctual, prepared, and highly patient with my students. My early schedule also makes it incredibly easy for me to accommodate international time zones, perfectly aligning with afternoon and evening hours in the US, UK, and Australia.

My teaching philosophy centers on building a rock-solid foundation through a highly structured and analytical approach. Having competed at the national level and achieved a FIDE rating of 1759, I know that real improvement comes from understanding the 'why' behind every move, rather than just memorizing opening lines.
My Teaching Methodology:
I focus heavily on pattern recognition, calculation techniques, and objective game analysis. Every student has a unique playing style, so I tailor my curriculum based on your specific strengths and weaknesses, systematically tracking your progress week by week.
Typical Class Structure (60 Minutes):
Game Analysis (15 mins): We review your recent games to identify recurring blunders, positional mistakes, and missed opportunities.
Tactics & Board Vision (15 mins): Solving targeted puzzles to sharpen your calculation skills and attacking instincts.
Core Theory (20 mins): Learning new concepts—whether it’s opening principles, middle-game planning, or essential endgame techniques.
Practical Application (10 mins): Playing specific positions or a short game together with live, interactive feedback.
