About Thane
My name is Thane Smith , ive been playing guitar professionally now for 8+ years. I started off self-taught so I understand the struggles of picking up guitar for the first time but after being mentored and trained by some of the best musicians in Cape Town I can say that I am where I am today. I have sessioned for many local artists in and around South Africa such as Majozi , Jack Parow , Emo and Loukman Adams to Demi-Lee Moore. Ive gained a lot of experience and knowledge from these situations ,as well as project bands that I have been apart of through the years and im hoping to share and impart that knowledge onto the next generation of guitarists to come up. For you see the beauty of music, as much as it is an expression of ones soul, it is a universal language that anyone and everyone can understand.

My lessons cater for all levels of players from beginner to grade 8 in guitar. All ages are welcome and encouraged as it is never too late to learn. Lessons are in English and consist of a combination of guitar work and theory as these two go hand in hand allowing for ones musical knowledge to expand across any desired genre one wishes to play. Technical work as well as song learning are included in the lessons suited to the level and style of playing. Theory work consists of basic theory to grade 5 theory with aural and ear training all to the level the student.
