About Ashley
I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education in May and have teaching experience in all four of these fields at the collegiate level. I have taught students between ages 6 and 20 and currently student teach at an elementary school, which has taught me so much about flexibility, adaptability, patience, and discipline. Trumpet is my primary instrument and music theory is a subject that has always come so easy to me, so I am most comfortable teaching within those two fields. I prefer teaching beginner to intermediate pianists and vocalists.

Regardless of whether or not my students play an instrument or sing, I always strive to intertwine the various components of music into one lesson. For instance, I believe singing as an instrumentalist is so helpful for ear training and internalization. Vocalists and music theorists evidently benefit from practicing common instrumentalist methods, including clapping, counting, and score study. I believe every student has the potential to succeed, and that means something different for everyone. I am all about individuality and open-mindedness! I hope to create a safe environment by encouraging mistakes, as they are the strongest form of learning!
