About Sara
I am a Senior Lecturer in Communications and Media with over 10 years’ experience teaching, supervising, and mentoring undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students.
I hold a PhD in Communication Science and have extensive international teaching and research experience. My expertise includes digital culture, media, communication theory, and research methods, and I have designed and delivered courses across a range of academic contexts.
Alongside teaching, I am an active researcher and published author specialising in digital media, migration, and technology. This allows me to bring current, real-world perspectives into my tutoring, helping students connect theory with contemporary issues while developing critical and independent thinking skills.
Passionate and approachable, I have a strong ability to explain difficult concepts in a clear and engaging way. I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style, helping build both confidence and understanding.

My tutoring approach is student-centred, thoughtfully structured, and highly adaptable. Every lesson is carefully tailored to suit the individual’s learning style, whether that means using clear visual explanations, step-by-step guidance, or dynamic, discussion-based teaching.
I combine guided practice with independent problem-solving to deepen understanding and build confidence. Regular feedback and targeted recap sessions are embedded into each lesson to support long-term retention and track meaningful progress.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, with the option of 90-minute sessions for more in-depth exploration or focused exam preparation.
I bring over a decade of experience tutoring and supervising students at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Alongside this, I have served as a Programme Director for BA and MA courses across the UK, and have designed and delivered digital ethnography and research methods training internationally.
