About Asha
I currently lead a Nurture Hub in a local secondary school and student well-being is my first priority. It has taken a decade of experience and SEN training to create lessons that address both the SEMH and academic needs of my mixed-ability classes. I teach to a high standard and expect a lot from my students but I create lessons that are as visual, creative and active as possible. Understanding how we learn and remember things is just as important as covering the curriculum and autonomy of learning is always my ultimate goal. I help my SEN students practise the tools they need to become self-sufficient and self-caring adults, and we apply those tools in everything we do.

I specialise in teaching SEN and SEMH students and I have a passion for creative, active education. I believe it's just as important for students to understand how they learn best as it is for them to understand the curriculum. I combine teaching the subject matter with helping students understand their neurodiversity and giving them the tools they need to navigate their learning in a way that is suited to them. I'm patient and I understand first-hand how emotive being neurodiverse can be. Art Tuition: I have a degree in Fine Art and I teach my subject through to degree level. I am good at helping students discover what inspires them so that they get the best out of their work. I can help students create a well-balanced and exemplary portfolio suitable for GCSE, A-level and College applications.
