About Theo
My name’s Theo Lawaczeck. I’m 26 years old, was born in London and currently live in Brixton.
I’m self taught, with guitar dominating almost all of my recreational time, and a tremendous amount of my energy and passion.
Music is the very essence of life. All of it. What would the world be without it? But Rock and all of its sub genres (Blues, Classic Rock, Progressive Rock, Psychedelic Rock - to name a few) speak to me in such a way that I was always destined to find my way to this incredible instrument. I just feel lucky to know I’ll play this thing for the rest of my life!
Some of my all time favourite bands and artists include - Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Alvin Lee, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles and Ween (if you haven’t heard of Ween, thank me later haha)

I am self taught and wholeheartedly dedicated to my guitars. I could never have imagined how much taking up guitar would completely transform my life and bring me so much joy. If you are able to feel even an ounce of what I feel towards this beautiful instrument, you will be forever hooked. Whatever your age, whatever your goals for progression - I will tailor each lesson to your specific and individual needs. The first lesson is free, where we can get to know each other and talk through the game plan, making it as smooth a process as possible :)
I play both acoustic and electric guitar, with a particular passion for improvisation. I will be extremely transparent in how to tap into the instrument’s nuances, and how to not just become someone who plays guitar, but to become someone who confidently calls yourself a guitarist! If you persevere, it will be the most fun and rewarding challenge of your life and, soon enough, will become almost impossible to walk by your guitar without having a jam session!
My ear is very well trained, as is my theoretical knowledge, meaning I’ll be able to systematically break down the guitar neck with you, enabling you to progress your ‘X-Ray’ vision of the fretboard, and learn your favourite songs with progressive ease. There is no one ‘correct’ way to go about this. However, our exploration into the CAGED system, and how it connects the ever elusive concept of how ‘chords’ and ‘scales’ truly interlink, will catapult your fundamental knowledge of the instrument’s core. We can then further explore and dive into the wondrous world of ‘Intervals’ and how combining this knowledge with an ever developing ear can cause for some truly amazing musical moments, that make the whole journey worthwhile. From that point on, there are many avenues to explore. To top it off, all of this makes learning your favourite songs and composing your own music increasingly exciting and easier processes, allowing your creativity to flow at full capacity.
