About Puja
Teaching professional who loves what they do!
I am a dedicated teaching professional who has a passion for helping students develop and improve their English skills so they can confidently use the language in their daily life and work situations. My main focus as a tutor is to inspire and motivate learners in way that enables them to reach their learning goals.
I have 15+ years’ experience in teaching English ranging from primary school classroom teaching, English as a Second Language and English as a Foreign Language in the UK and abroad. This experience includes doing private one-to-one teaching.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Education with Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) with excellent knowledge and understanding of the primary national curriculum. I also have a CELTA qualification in teaching English to Speakers of other languages as well as a BTEC National Diploma in Childhood studies.
My students have been young learners, professionals, refugees and asylum seekers and vary in age from 4-60+. My recent experience involved teaching at a Private Language School in Leeds but due to the coronavirus pandemic I am now transferring my teaching career into private tutoring.

1. I have a very positive attitude towards learning. The best and most inspiring teachers I have had were those who praised and encouragement me when I found things difficult – with my supportive, patient and empathetic nature, I have helped students overcome their difficulties and achieve their goals.
2. My diverse range of teaching experiences (paid and voluntary positions) have enabled me to become a very versatile and creative teacher. I have successfully adapted quickly to new working environments, using my own creativity when resources are limited.
3. I have the ability to adapt teaching styles and teaching materials according to learner needs. I have always used my own initiative to diverse resources and/or to use supplementary materials. Thus, making learning more meaningful to individuals.
4. I have a natural flair for understanding people’s backgrounds whichever country they may be from, and I can assess quickly student’s capabilities, making learning the English language an enjoyable and dynamic process.
5. I am very organised and my lessons are always carefully thought out with Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-bound (SMART) aims and clear staging.
As a reflective teacher I always evaluate progress after each session whether learning aims have been met and equally encourage learners to assess their own learning by getting them to say what they have found interesting and useful. I would very much love to work with you.
