About Fern
Due to health reasons, year 13 was my first full year of school since year 9, in which I gained NCEA level 1, 2, 3, all endorsed with excellence. Because of this, I have an abundance of advice, knowledge, and tools to both manage and succeed with a heavy workload, even when your academic goals do not seem possible (they are!). History was my absolute favorite subject in year 13, where I got straight excellences across all internals and externals. I am now a second-year University student majoring in Psychology and Criminology, with elective history papers and a minor in Sociology. I am particularly interested in tutoring and supporting students with both undiagnosed and diagnosed ADHD, as I have had to and continually am navigating and excelling in my own studies as a fellow ADHDer.

History can be incredibly overwhelming and daunting, so I want to be able to teach students in year 11 through to year 13 how to manage and understand complex topics, in addition to how to structure an excellence worthy essay, gain critical thinking and research skills, and be able to link the topic to current and relevant other world issues. Typical length of a lesson is 60 minutes.
