About Tanisha
I'm a 19 year old international student (almost 20) in the UK and have grown up with a keen interest in reading and writing from a young age. My interests beyond that include singing and playing the piano (which I learnt for about 5 years even though I was never very good at it). I continue to sing at events at university and am also an active member of Durham University's intersectional feminist society and book club. I am interested in tutoring because it is something I want to pursue in the future. It is also something I am well-versed with as I have been preparing my 16 year old brother for his English exams ever since we were young. He is diagnosed with mild dyslexia and ADHD and struggles with comprehending texts and writing about them. Hence, my personal experience has taught me to be really sensitive and patient with those who need a little bit of extra help :)

-I offer online lessons for GCSE English students (anyone aged 16 or under) once or twice a week who need any help with their reading material or writing material. I am able to help them understand and analyse the material in depth as well as providing secondary sources to assist them. -The lessons can be expected to be around 45 mins- 1 hour and involve reading and writing tasks on which I will provide consistent feedback in keeping with the marking criteria. - I'm a second year English literature student at Durham University (heading into third year) and have previously received As in English in GCSE and at higher level in the IB. - I have informal experience of tutoring students aged 15-16 with learning disabilities and am extremely patient with everyone regardless of the level they are at in their academic journey
