About Francesca
Hi! I'm Francesca, a second-year BSc Biochemistry student at University College London. Having recently studied biology at IB, I have a clear memory of the concepts students find most challenging and the kind of explanations that actually make them click.
I am passionate about science and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with others. I believe that every student has the capacity to understand biology when it is taught with patience and clarity, and I bring both to every session. I am reliable, friendly, and committed to helping each student feel genuinely supported in their learning.

My approach centres on building genuine understanding rather than rote memorisation — I focus on making sure students grasp the underlying concepts so they can apply them flexibly, rather than simply reproducing facts.
I tailor each session to the individual student, starting by identifying gaps in their understanding and working from there. I am comfortable adapting my explanations to different learning styles, and I find that using real-world examples and analogies helps make abstract biological concepts more accessible and memorable.
Sessions typically last one hour, though I am happy to adjust this depending on the student's needs. I am well-suited to supporting students at any stage of their studies — whether consolidating content from the year just completed, getting ahead on topics coming up, or simply building confidence and curiosity in a subject they want to engage with more deeply.
