About Callista
I am a second year student at the University of Melbourne studying Biomedicine. I will major in pharmacology, but I have a deep passion for biology (realistically I perform better in Biology, but I love the challenge of pharmacology). I have been tutoring for almost a year now, in both Chemistry and Maths Methods, but I would LOVE to teach and tutor biology; it's where the fun is at!
I also have detailed summary notes for Unit 1/2 Biology and Unit 3/4 Biology, which I allow the tutee access to and even photocopy pages to keep.

I vary my teaching style to what the student needs. My preferred method is that during the session, I do an introduction to the topic, then we co-complete some examples from the respective textbook. Often I will come with extra worksheets for the student to take home. After the first session, I make a Google Doc where the student can ask questions, and I post their homework from the session. I check that at least twice a week. I believe in truly gaining a conceptual understanding of why things are how they are, rather than stamp collecting facts in your brain. Ultimately though, I would happily adjust for any other requirements.
