About Emily
I am from the UK and have an undergraduate and Masters degree in Neuroscience from the University of Glasgow and a PhD in human genetics from the University of Newcastle. During my PhD I worked as a teaching assistant for the biomedicine degree course. I moved to Canada in 2019 to work as a postdoctoral fellow at a children's hospital. As part of my role I supervise undergraduate/masters/PhD students and teach them about genetics and lab techniques. I also review grants for various funding agencies and publications for a number of scientific journals. Teaching is one of the best parts of my job and I look forward to getting to meet some of you and help you with your studies! I tailor each class to the specific requirements of my student. After we work out what you need to focus on I will use a range of materials to help guide you through the topic . These session will be interactive to help you learn faster, rather than you listening to a lecture!
I am from the UK and have a Masters degree in Neuroscience and PhD in human genetics. My lessons are best suited for high school and undergraduate students who want to focus on topics within biology and maths, including assisting with lab-related calculations if you are starting a new work placement! I can also help with thesis writing, essays and dissertations, as well as helping prepare resumes and cover letters.
