Scientist retired from permanent job makes Physics and Maths easy in Thiruvananthapuram

Dr. Sasi Kumar is a person who is genuinely interested and engaged in the pursuit of knowledge. In my various discussions with him, I have always been impressed with his awareness and in-depth knowledge of various subjects. That coupled with his immense patience makes him a wonderful teacher. His focus is on knowing and understanding concepts, ideas and theories. He does not subscribe to the myopic view that learning stops with exams. It is a lifelong journey and his approach pushes one to question and understand ideas and concepts and not merely get marks in exams. I cannot think of a better teacher than Dr. Sasi Kumar.

Dr V Sasi Kumar is a renowned scientist retired from National Centre for Earth Science Studies, Thiruvananthapuram. He contributed a lot in the field of Clouds, Precipitation microphysics, Atmospheric electricity and Lightning. He completed his masters and M Tech from Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. He was one of my PhD guides also. I had an opportunity to work with him. He authored several research publications and several scientific books. He is a versatile genius in theoretical physics. He addressed my scientific problems of societal impact and solved them when he was in service.
