About Colette
I am a qualified science teacher with 12 years of experience teaching across KS3, GCSE (all sciences), A-level Physics and Molecular Biology at Degree level.
I specialise in helping students improve the quality of their answers, with a strong focus on exam technique, clear explanations, and structured thinking. My approach is calm, supportive and focused on making steady, meaningful progress.

Teaching Approach & Methodology
My approach focuses on improving the quality of students’ answers, not just understanding content. I identify gaps in understanding quickly, explain concepts clearly, give direct, practical feedback, and show students how to structure strong exam responses. There is a strong emphasis on exam technique, as this is often what separates average from high grades. Sessions are focused and efficient, helping students make clear progress without feeling overwhelmed.
Lesson Structure & Length
Sessions are 60 minutes. I will usually ask what you would like to focus on so we can use the time effectively. A typical session includes a brief review of current work, clear explanation of key concepts, targeted feedback on answers, and practical guidance on how to improve.
Qualifications & Experience
I am a qualified Science teacher with 12 years of experience. I have taught KS3, GCSE (all sciences), A-level Physics, and University students up to Masters level in Biology. My particular strengths are helping students understand what is required of them in assessments, to turn knowledge into great results.
