About JeanClaude
I am originally from the island of Mauritius. Apart from English, I also speak and write French fluently. I have worked both in a mainstream school and in one that caters for students with intellectual and physical difficulties. I am committed to fostering inclusive learning environments and am passionately motivated by the profound impact that education can have on students and society. I am also aware that students perform at different levels which may create a lack of confidence and lead to low assignment and test results. I find it crucial to work closely with parents and carers to provide a friendly atmosphere during tutoring sessions so that students are relaxed while they are learning. What may seem like an impossible task to some students, may become interesting if problems are re-stated in words that are easy to understand and illustrated with familiar examples.

I draw upon the wealth of my experience as a teacher and a science technician to engage students in the learning process. I am continually looking for ways to simplify problems for students by breaking them down into small and manageable steps. I regularly enlist in professional development courses to help me deliver stimulating and relevant lessons. I welcome the opportunity to create innovative learning experiences that unlock the potential of every student.
My general aims are to: improve interest, concentration, and engagement, reinforce communication, foster effective behaviour management, and encourage pride in academic performance.
This is a wholistic approach designed to build students’ confidence and independence and lead to their uninterrupted involvement into society.
