About James
I have played Alto Saxophone for fifteen years now, achieving Grade 8 six years ago.
I have played in various ensembles and bands, including the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) and local Barnet scar band The Silenserz.
I have lots of teaching experience working as a Teaching Assistant for three years across various Primary Schools in North London and Bath. Including my work as a nursery assistant, I have taught children from ages 3 up to 11 in groups and in 1:1 settings.
However, I have also taught Alto Sax to a couple of mature students in their sixties (see reviews).
My recent work as a playwright, writing and acting for in an inter-generational community theatre group, has exercised my communication skills with various ages older and younger than myself.

The first lesson will focus on building a relationship with the student. I will ask various questions about their experience on the given subject to establish an understanding of what I should cover and how I should adapt my teaching style for them.
I will construct a routine for the student to follow (not to be labelled as homework) in order to maintain their learning out of lessons and in the future.

James Godwin has worked professionally as a theatre writer for the bull players. During this time he has been very trusted by all the company. He met deadlines and worked sensitively, creating material for our theatre productions.
