About Saran
- What kind of experience do you have? I have been tutoring for 25 years, supporting a range of children's needs from severely dyslexic difficulties to a general boosting of confidence and knowledge-building for exam purposes. I develop a strong rapport with the children I teach to get to know their strengths in learning so as to help build up their weaker areas of ability. I bring a trust in each child's intelligence and innate desire to learn and aim to make the learning experience into something pleasurable, sustaining, and something that belongs to the student so they will maintain confidence in their interest and ability to learn. I take time getting to know each individual's learning needs and regularly providing feedback to their families which can be shared with school teachers too if useful. I love sharing a range of language resources with children to ignite an interest with them and find those that best respond to their learning-style. I also have been undertaking formal educational assessments for the past 3 years to inform educational providers of the cognitive profile of a student, particularly useful for dyslexic children. These are sensitive assessments and can contribute to a child being awarded extra time or a scribe for their exams. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes - Do you belong to any professional organisations? I am a member of the Dyslexia Guild and the British Psychological Association of Testers
