About Sara
Hi! I’m Sara, a second-year Psychology and Legal Studies student at UC Santa Cruz with a strong academic background in mathematics. I’ve taken college-level statistics and precalculus courses and excelled in both. I also have experience tutoring elementary and middle school students, as well as fellow classmates in both high school and college. Through this work, I’ve seen students significantly improve their exam performance and gain a stronger understanding of challenging concepts. I’m patient, reliable, and highly organized, and I focus on explaining material in a clear, approachable way that adapts to each student’s learning style. My goal is to help students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and feel genuinely comfortable with math.

My math lessons are designed to help students truly understand concepts rather than just memorize steps. I work with students of all levels, from those building foundational skills to those taking algebra, trigonometry, precalculus, or statistics.
Each lesson typically begins with a review of homework or challenging problems to identify where the student is struggling. From there, I provide clear explanations and additional practice problems specifically chosen to target each student’s weak points. I break down complex topics step by step, encourage questions, and use real examples to make concepts easier to grasp.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my patience, adaptability, and focus on building confidence alongside skills. My goal is for students to leave each session feeling more comfortable with math, better prepared for assignments and tests, and more confident in their abilities.
