About Maxence
Bonjour!
My name is Maxence, and I live in Montreal, Canada. I am currently studying opera singing at McGill University. I plan to pursue a dual career by continuing my academic journey in law starting next fall.
I have been a French tutor for two years already. I have had the opportunity to work both online and in person with students of all levels: children, teenagers, and adults. Also: I love food (...a lot!), I swim, and I am passionate about philosophy.

I always tailor my classes according to your needs, whether it's to improve writing, oral communication, work on your professional French, or reinforce fundamentals. I am open to anything.
To the question, "But wouldn't I be in better hands with a tutor living in France?" Well, first of all, I have already lived in France, but that's not the crucial point!
Whether with Francophone students or not, I am here to work on standard French, namely an internationally recognized French that aims to centralize and standardize the language. Thus, a Parisian can understand me very well with this normative French, as can a Montrealer or a Moroccan. Of course, there are various dialects and expressions specific to each linguistic territory; in my case, it's Quebec French. This little note is meant to be reassuring regarding the "level" of French I can teach. There is not just one "correct" French but indeed a multitude. However, there is indeed a normative French on which we can focus.
