About Lidia
As a Russian citizen coming to a school in England I have been looking for opportunities to help students of various ages in their studies, sharing my experience and providing the support essential during learning.
Additionally, I have two little sisters in their 4th and 5th years of school, who I enjoy navigating through school life and supporting their academic understanding of natural sciences, mathematics and languages (Russian, English, German). Throughout the 5 years of helping them with their school work, I have found that introducing their interests into the learning process really helps them engage and understand even the most difficult scientific and mathematical concepts.
Learning 4 foreign languages, I am absolutely fascinated by the process and have great fun explaining all the small details to others. I believe learning about the country's history, culture, mentality and fun facts is a major part of learning a language and cannot wait to share all the Russia/England comparisons with you!:)
Qualifications:
- Graduated 11 years of Russian school with honours and 5s (equivalent of A*) in all of the subjects.
- Honorary academic scholar at The King;s School Canterbury.
- GCSEs: 6 ‘A*’s (including A* for each science and maths), 2 ‘9’s, 2 ‘A’s, 1 ‘8’s and ‘A’ in Additional Mathematics (highest grade)
- A-Levels: 2 ‘A*’s (Maths and Russian), 3 ‘A’s (Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry)
- «SkyEng Teacher Training» - 22 hours of considering various teaching techniques
- «Main mistakes when carrying out online lessons» at SkyEng - An online course analysing the common mistakes teachers make and the techniques to fully engage students in the learning process.
- Half a year tutoring experience at one of the biggest English learning platforms in Russia «SkyEng», working with students of various levels on both improving their English skills and gaining technical vocabulary essential for their jobs (programming, chemistry, retail).

I believe that the most important thing in tutoring is an individual approach to every student, since everyone has their own way of understanding and processing information.
During my experience as a Science tutor in 6 form and as an English tutor at one of the biggest online platforms in Russia I found it most useful to first establish students’ interests and the main areas of difficulty to find a most efficient way of learning so that a student could not only grasp the information easily, but also enjoy the lessons.
In my opinion, communication is most important when learning a language. Hence, I try to make my lessons as interactive as possible. I encourage my students to not be afraid to speak - we all make mistakes, so making them and working through the difficulties is the only way to get comfortable with a language!:)
