About Anna
I’m a Russian illustrator living in Brisbane, Australia. I have a Master's Degree in Visual Arts and I have been giving Art lessons for kids for more than 5 years in total. Since I immigrated to Australia 3 years ago and met people from different countries, I had a chance to look at my native language from a different perspective, and I was amazed by it. I started to teach Russian because it’s a language that offers so much depth, and I believe that teaching it allows me to not only share the mechanics of the language but also the cultural and artistic side. It also helps to create connections with curious people from all around the world. Also, I find that teaching Russian keeps me sharp, and I love how it pushes me to continually grow and find creative ways to explain things. There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing someone progress and begin to connect with a new language, just as I do when I engage in my other passions and in life in general. For me, language is more than just words—it’s a form of expression, creativity, and connection, much like art.

My lessons are designed to help students develop skills in speaking, reading, writing, and listening in Russian. The lesson structure can vary based on the student’s level, but typically it includes: Vocabulary building, Speaking and Listening Practice, Wrap-up and Homework. Typical Lesson Length is 45-60 minutes depending on the student’s needs and availability. My lessons are for students who are learning Russian for personal interest, heritage reasons, or to improve their language skills for better communication.
