I focus on creating an engaging, supportive, and student-centred learning environment. My goal is to help students build confidence in their Russian language skills while ensuring that lessons are effective and enjoyable. I use a combination of modern, communicative teaching methods tailored to each student's needs, level, and learning style. Some of the key approaches I use are: Communicative Approach: This focuses on practical communication and helps students use Russian in real-world scenarios. We do a lot of role-playing, discussions, and problem-solving tasks to encourage active language use. Task-Based Learning: I design lessons around meaningful tasks (e.g., planning a trip, writing emails) that require students to use language in context, making learning more practical and relevant. Grammar-Translation Method: For more advanced students or those who want to master grammar, I integrate grammar exercises and translation to help them understand sentence structure and improve their accuracy. Interactive and Immersive Learning: I incorporate audio, videos, and authentic materials such as Russian news, music, and films to make the learning experience more immersive. This approach helps students understand cultural context and build vocabulary in context. Flexible Lesson Plans: Based on the student's needs, I may incorporate elements like pronunciation practice, writing exercises, or vocabulary-building games to reinforce language skills in a fun, engaging way. Typically, my lessons last between 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the student’s preferences and availability. I find that this duration is ideal for maintaining focus and ensuring that students have enough time to practice and absorb the material without feeling overwhelmed. I have 13 years of experience teaching Russian as a second language, working with students of all levels, from beginners to advanced learners. I have a Degree in Linguistics and Teaching, which has provided me with a strong theoretical foundation in language teaching. My lessons are designed for students of all levels – whether you're just starting out or looking to perfect your Russian, I can adapt the lessons to fit your needs. I work with: Beginners who are new to Russian and need a structured introduction to the language. Intermediate learners looking to improve their conversational skills, grammar, and vocabulary. Advanced learners aiming for fluency, refining their understanding of grammar, and engaging with more complex topics. I also offer lessons for a wide range of ages, from teenagers to adults, and tailor my approach to be age-appropriate and engaging for each individual.
