• When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

  I was at University studying Media when I got the chance to work on a major film as an extra. As filming progressed, I was asked to take on a much bigger role and the whole experience really excited me. The scale of the production and the creativity of everyone on set inspired me to change career paths, move to London and audition for drama school!

• Which artists or works affect you the most?

  I absolutely love Shakespeare in its written form and I love seeing how different actors and directors approach that work. I really see it's influence across modern storytelling. Other than that some of my favourite actors include Cate Blanchett, Michaela Coel, Daniel Kaluuya and Meryl Streep.

• What are the qualities and skill required to succeed in this area?

  Passion is always key, the ability to take direction and collaboration.

• What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

  Stay in your own lane. You have a unique perspective only you can offer. Embracing what makes you different will make you stand out as an artist and attract the right opportunities.

• How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

  I feel incredibly lucky to wake up each day and work in the arts. I love investigating human behaviour and asking big life questions. My passion for acting comes from my curiosity about the world itself.

• What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

  Training at Royal Welsh, performing for the Royals, working for the BBC to name a few so far.

• Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

  All the time. I'm so lucky to amazing students who show up with talent by the bucketload and are eager to learn.

• Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

  I think it's about staying on top of my own skill and creativity and being enjoyable to work with. I love what I do.
