About Stephanie Lane
I've been a graphic designer, artist, printmaker, and publisher for over a decade with a diverse array of industry and teaching experience. In 2015, I founded Martian Press, a Risograph-based zine and art book imprint, that has exhibited work in over 50 art book fairs and fests (both nationally and globally). In 2023, I received my MFA in Graphic Design from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), and went on to found Saturated Grey Studio with fellow cohort member, Zhen Lu. Between printing and publishing through Martian Press, and tackling design projects with Saturated Grey, I also teach at the college level as adjunct faculty.

Risograph is a fantastic medium to learn and master for many creative professionals including designers, artists, writers, photographers, comic artists and illustrators. This unique print medium allows for fine art-level reproductions of art, as well as an affordable option for for publishing zines, magazines and books. Lessons are catered to any and all skill levels, whether a complete beginner artist or a master printmaker. Cost includes materials, and lessons can be taught either in person at my personal print studio in Lincoln Heights, LA, CA, or via zoom with resulting prints being mailed to the student. A basic Riso 101 course will typically take 3 hours, and is conducted like a private workshop. Students will walk away with 20, two-color Riso prints of their own design. I also offer shorter lessons focused on file prep and pre-press that don't include takeaway prints.
