About Trinity
Across fifteen years of tutoring I have worked with 760 students, spanning secondary pupils, undergraduates, and even working professionals retraining seriously into technical careers later in life. My academic path took me through an advanced physics degree followed by postgraduate study, with several years in an applied research setting before I shifted fully toward teaching. That research background shapes how I teach, since I focus on why a method exists and where its limitations lie, not just how to apply it mechanically. I am a demanding tutor, though never an unkind one, and I am upfront that meaningful progress requires consistent effort rather than occasional cramming. Many of my tutoring relationships have lasted several years, letting me follow a single student's development through university study.

My physics lessons begin with deriving key relationships from first principles wherever genuinely possible, because students who understand where a formula comes from rarely need to memorise it separately at all. I assign longer, genuinely open ended problems than most tutors, giving space to struggle productively for ten or fifteen minutes before offering any hints, since that struggle is where real skill develops. Unit analysis and dimensional reasoning are taught as reliable self checking tools, a habit that dramatically reduces careless errors under real exam pressure over time. Career guidance is woven directly into lessons for older students, connecting specific topics to real engineering and technical career paths they might pursue. Every student receives a personalised long term study roadmap, reviewed and carefully adjusted every few months rather than following one fixed syllabus.
