Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?
That was in the late 80's in Beijing China. I was the only one selected by the school to send to a computer program. The computer is more like a Pad size with a normal key sizes keyboard with a slot of the screen on the top. What we learned at first was blind typing. Thanks for that I type very good til these days.
What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?
Transferring from AutoCAD to Revit was big for me. The two software seem to require a different mindset. I quite like Revit and always like to learn more.

In the future, I could see AI/robots being used in the construction field. I am wondering if Architects will need to learn computer programing to give instruction to the new labor source.
Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.
I am an Architect loving to draw. Using Revit in the real world sharpens my Revit skills, and also makes me think about different ways to make daily Architect's tasks more efficient.

First-hand software skills are very important to me for involving BIM collaboration with the whole project team including the client, marketing team, engineers, consultants, general contractor, and sub-contractors.

Data sharing and information exchange are inevitable. Cradle-to-cradle is holistic progress and will live in a computer era.
Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?
We all need to take a break from our daily job, lift our heads, and look at the big picture. That is one of the reasons I pay attention to the architecture field trend and news.

I don't really have a specific role model, but all the leaders in the field and senior architects in the office inspire me and encourage me to take steps to improve myself.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.
My first foreign language was Russian, although I forgot most of it by now. I studied Russian until my second year in college. In one of my design assignments, a teacher looked at my site plan and said, you must learn Russian before because instead of "N" for North Arrow, I put "И" on my drawing. Yeah, they look very similar.
What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?
Deep breath and dive in bit by bit. Keep slow, but keep moving. It is amazing. I've been there and I made it through.
What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?
Kickboxing workout and Zumba, cooking, playing with kids, and learning from them.
