About Russell
Economics is a language. I begin our sessions by breaking down concepts like elasticity into simple mental models that you can apply during your exams.
I utilize my 165 students worth of experience to identify which topics usually trip up new learners. We spend our time refining your exam technique, as knowledge alone is often insufficient without the correct structure.
I provide free access to my model answer notes to help you see exactly how an examiner expects you to frame your response. My years in the industry give me a library of examples that make abstract concepts feel tangible. I find that focusing on the logic behind the policy often helps students recall complex details under pressure.
I enjoy seeing the moment when the market dynamics finally click for a student. It is quite rewarding.

I admit that I find standard textbook explanations of market structures to be remarkably dry and disconnected from reality. My time in the fintech sector shaped my perspective on how monetary policy actually impacts the bottom line of a business. I have worked with 165 students across university and high school levels, helping them navigate the complexities of international trade and behavioural economics.
Working with university freshmen and ATAR students requires a balance of rigor and clarity. I try to strip back the jargon to reveal the underlying mechanics of supply and demand. Most of my former students appreciate that I do not sugarcoat the requirements of their exams. My teaching method remains rooted in the practical applications of economic theory, so it stays like that.
