Through my experiences with a variety of educational improvement models, I align teaching and learning with student achievement to develop lessons that lead to learning success. Developmental theories from Vygotsky, Piaget, B. F. Skinner, and Erik Erikson, combined with current research are the most productive way to provide a solid base for teaching.
Working in a classroom is like conducting an orchestra. The teacher contributes the most important part to creating a melody of success through data analysis, ongoing assessment, using curriculum frameworks and standards to achieve a measurable outcome. I must also keep in mind what is best for the students at the center of my decision making. It is not a simple process, but has a profound implication on what happens to the underserved population we must educate.
