About Mélanie
I have my level 8 RCM qualification for music theory. I have 5 university music theory courses as well, which cover a much more vast knowledge of theory and musical practice. I have taught piano to about 10 people so far and in that, I've incorporated music theory as it's such an integral part of the musical experience. When my teacher first introduced me to theory, I thought it was a useless waste of time. But I started recognizing keys and chords in my music and all of a sudden, music became easier to learn. I was able to sight-read new pieces with ease and comfort. I've personally experienced the joys of music theory and the positive benefit it has to playing every instrument, and I am so excited to share this experience with others.

I'm a Queen's University Music graduate and am a current Bachelor of Education student. I am really enjoying my programs and I would like to offer others the knowledge needed to experience this as well. My lessons will be geared toward music students of all instruments and intended to learn about theory for exam purposes, university auditions, as well as personal gain in music. Every student deserves an equal chance to learn no matter their starting level or background in music. I wish to give every student the best information and practice to succeed in RCM theoretical exams, as well as any musical auditions that require theory. It's an important part of understanding music and can open the mind to so many more possibilities.

Details
My standard rate for all classes is 45$ an hour. Depending on the age and subject, changes to this price can be negotiated. I firmly believe that all students deserve to have a proper education and help. I am happy to help that happen.
