About Ashley
I have a BA degree in English Studies. This means I was focused heavily on literature and academic writing. In college, I found a love for linguistics and tutoring. For my junior and senior year, I worked alongside English professors to hone my editing skills. While tutoring, I worked with many ESL students. I have the patience and the knowledge to make anyone not hate writing.

I base all of my sessions on one thing: what the student needs. I understand that English can be overwhelming, and I aim to help quell the fear that getting the English right brings. You will get your best writing done when you forget about grammar. Writing is about getting your thoughts out of your head. Then, you get to edit what you have done.
Writing can be a very disorganized thing, so I aim to bring some organization to the mess. I have to have an entire table to write, but I only need a clipboard to edit. That is symbolic of how reaching a final product should be: start large, get narrow.
Don't worry about the grammar rules. I start by pointing them out and explaining the rule, then I move on to pointing out the line with an error and coaching you to where the mistake is. Finally, you start identifying the errors yourself and being able to explain why you need the correct.

Details
Cancellation Policy:
- 24-hour notice to receive no fee. (If in case of emergency, please get in touch as soon as you can.)
- Less than 24-hour notice will be forgiven the first time. The second time you will receive a fee for half the cost of the session. After the second time, you will receive a fee for the entire cost. After the fifth cancellation with no 24-hour notice, you will not be able to book any sessions with me.
Webcam Sessions:
- Appropriate behavior and attire as if you were in person will be required.
- Documents for editing should be sent to my professional email address.
Literature Focused Sessions:
- Any reading material should be sent to me. The title and author will be fine.
