With most math problems, I like to start from the basics and I strongly believe that building blocks are what make a building. For primary/middle school children I will involve several real-life problems and examples. Learning math should not be limited to the constrain of just scoring marks.
For high school students, depending on their subject choice and areas of weakness we will focus on understanding and solving problems together and targeting speed as well as accuracy.
For GRE math, I use several paid and unpaid resources to guide the students to understanding quick logic and arriving at the right answer through minimal steps, a process of elimination and other easy techniques. I will also give them suggestions regarding their overall preparation towards scoring a great GRE total.
