About Joe
Hi, I'm Joe - I play tenor and alto saxophones as well as clarinet. I am based in London and have performed with many different bands/ensembles across the UK. I am a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and have performed alongside world-class musicians such as Bob Mintzer and Hermeto Pascoal. At music college I studied under the likes of Julian Siegel and Tony Kofi, and have got the opportunity to go into schools and lead workshops with various ensembles and musicians. I also lead my own bands, where we play a wide variety of music including jazz standards and original compositions.

My approach to teaching is to provide a personalised plan for each student, and will vary depending on the student's needs and level. I will provide PDF summaries of each lesson, which will cover all areas of learning - including sound, technique and repertoire. My specialism is in jazz, although I have a lot of experience in classical music and other genres. I can help you prepare for ABRSM exams, upcoming performances or whatever your objectives are! I can teach all levels and ages, from complete beginners to intermediate/advanced students. Looking forward to working together!

I had a really great Saxophone lesson with Joe! I'd been wanting to learn for a while and he was very patient with me as I struggled to get a sound out of my instrument (which I did eventually manage!). I'd really recommend him as a very informative and helpful teacher!
