I am a recent bilingual (Mandarin and English) post-graduate who grew up in Beijing. I have previous experience teaching Mandarin, English and Philosophy to students of different age groups.

About Jennifer
I graduated from King's College London in 2020 with a MA in Geopolitics, and University of Bristol in 2019 with a BSc in Philosophy and Politics.
I have previously taught philosophy, English and Mandarin to students ranging as young as the second grade to adult learners. My education prepares me well to deliver the necessary knowledge and solving skills to my students effectively through establishing a good channel of communications with patience and diligence.
Growing up bilingual in Beijing, I understand the difficulties students face when trying to approach or master another language. I am confident my background will help my students to meet their goals and potentials.

I prefer the classes to be carried out in small groups, ideally, one on one. I try to make the lessons as engaging and interesting as possible, since it appears to be the most efficient way to learn.
I aim to have students think independently and work towards the answer by themselves with my help, rather than just feeding them information from textbooks. I am always excited by seeing students' interests and potentials, and am more than willing to introduce more challenging materials when the time comes.
I try to explain the materials to the students first so they understand what they are learning, and how they can use it, which will help them in better remembering and when to apply the knowledge.
I check in with students very often to see their progress and might introduce a small test once in a while to evaluate how well they are learning, this helps both me and the students to better understand which areas of Mandarin they are the least confident in.
