About Nicole
Hi, I'm Nicole!
I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) and am currently completing my Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Studies. I have experience working with young children and a strong passion for supporting children's learning and development.
I especially enjoy helping young children develop their language and literacy skills. I believe learning should be a positive experience, and I love finding ways to make reading, English, and early literacy fun and engaging.
I also have experience teaching English online, so I am comfortable working with children in a virtual learning environment. I understand that online learning can feel different for young children, which is why I use interactive activities, stories, games, and conversation to keep children involved.
I am patient, encouraging, and take the time to get to know each child. I understand that every child learns differently, and I adapt my approach to their individual interests, strengths, and needs.
Whether your child is just beginning to learn their letters and sounds, getting ready for kindergarten, developing their reading skills, or learning English, I would love to help them build their confidence and enjoy learning along the way.

As a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) completing my Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Studies, I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable, supported, and interested in what they are learning. My approach is playful, engaging, and developmentally appropriate, with activities adapted to each child's age, interests, strengths, and learning needs.
For younger children, I use stories, songs, games, conversation, visual activities, and interactive literacy experiences to make learning feel natural and enjoyable. Rather than expecting a child to sit through a traditional lesson, I keep activities varied and engaging while building important skills along the way.
A typical lesson may begin with a short conversation or warm-up activity, followed by a story, literacy activity, phonics or letter-sound practice, and an interactive game or activity. I adjust the lesson as we go based on the child's attention, confidence, and progress. For preschool children especially, lessons can be shorter and more play-based to match their developmental stage.
I can support children with early literacy, letter recognition, letter sounds, phonological awareness, rhyming, vocabulary, beginning reading, phonics, reading comprehension, and kindergarten readiness. I can also support children who are learning English through conversation, stories, vocabulary, and reading activities.
What sets me apart is my background as an RECE. I understand early childhood development and know that children do not all learn in the same way or at the same pace. My goal is not only to help children develop literacy and English skills, but also to help them feel confident, successful, and excited about learning.
My lessons are best suited for preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary-aged children. I welcome children with different learning styles and abilities and will work with families to understand their child's individual needs and goals.
My sessions are designed specifically for young children and are 30 minutes long rather than a traditional one-hour lesson. Shorter sessions are often a better fit for preschool and early elementary children, allowing them to stay engaged while still making meaningful progress.

I offer 30-minute online sessions for young learners, with the length adjusted based on the child's age, attention span, and individual needs.
My listed hourly rate is $40, but my lessons are intentionally offered in
