About Sharayah
Hi! My name is Sharayah, and I am a certified teacher with 10 years of classroom experience and a Master’s degree in Reading and Literacy. I have spent my career working with elementary students, helping them grow in both skill and confidence.
I am especially passionate about supporting struggling readers. I understand that reading can feel frustrating or overwhelming for some students, and I work to create a calm, encouraging environment where they feel successful and supported. My goal is not only to help students improve their reading abilities, but also to help them believe in themselves as learners.
Throughout my teaching experience, I have worked with a wide range of students at different levels, and I am skilled at adjusting my instruction to meet each child’s individual needs. I focus on building strong foundational skills while also making learning engaging and meaningful.
I value clear communication with families and believe that progress happens best when everyone feels informed and supported. I look forward to partnering with you to help your child grow and succeed.

I take a supportive and structured approach to tutoring, focusing on helping students build both their reading skills and their confidence. With my background as a certified teacher and literacy specialist, I tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs of the student.
A typical session begins with a quick check-in and review, followed by targeted instruction based on the student’s current skill level. This may include phonics, fluency, comprehension strategies, or vocabulary development. I incorporate engaging, hands-on activities when appropriate to keep students involved and motivated. Each session ends with a brief review and clear next steps so both the student and parent can see progress over time.
What sets me apart is my ability to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel safe to take risks and grow. I understand that many struggling readers also struggle with confidence, so I focus on building both skill and self-belief. I also communicate clearly with parents so they feel informed and supported throughout the process.
My lessons are best suited for K–6 students who need extra support in reading, whether they are behind, struggling to keep up, or simply need additional practice to strengthen their skills. I work with a wide range of learners and adapt my approach to meet each child where they are.
