Raphael - Highgate - School English

This was our first experience of engaging a tutor and we are extremely pleased. My 12-year-old daughter had some very specific questions regarding essay structure and analysis for Common Entrance History that were answered very effectively by Lizzy. My daughter found her approach both friendly and engaging (hour and a half session went by very quickly) and she found her ideas and suggestions extremely helpful.

We just wanted to say thank you for all the help that you have given our son. We have seen not only a big improvement in his Maths but also in his confidence and belief that he can tackle Maths and all his other subjects well.

Howard was extremely effective in helping R with his Geography AS Level. He was structured, knew the exam board very well and provided excellent resources, and by the time the exam came round R was very confident. We are not surprised that he scored an A in his exam, and we do not hesitate to recommend Howard as a tutor.

I have had Amber as a teacher for the two last months and I am very happy. She is an excellent professional; she explains everything clearly so that I can understand, and during these past two months I have noticed great improvement in my English. Amber is a wonderful person, very kind and patient.

By the time I left Ingrid I felt as though she really understood how I think and learn. The lessons were always so much fun and conversation led me into avenues of thought I never would have thought myself capable of; they became a highlight of my week. My place at Cambridge owes a lot to her experience and her teaching.

Alex was an excellent tutor for our daughter. She really helped build her confidence in Maths and English, was friendly and encouraging and our daughter looked forward to the stress-free sessions! We were preparing for 7+ Highgate School entry and our daughter was successful!

Mia was professional, gave us lots of homework to do and really seemed to care that A succeeded. We were biting our nails when the results came in but the hard work paid off and we were over the moon to hear that A had got into Francis Holland. We're hugely appreciative of Mia's help, and recommend her unreservedly as a tutor.

Ben tutored my twelve year-old son for 5 months up to his Common Entrance exam. Due to Ben's enthusiasm, support and professional attitude, my son achieved both good and very good grades in his examinations. I can highly recommend him.

We always believed that our son has some potential, but with Beth's guidance this has come to life. His writing has been transformed: his punctuation and grammar are now significantly better. He was very reluctant to read books, but now we are unable to keep books away from him! He has been selected by every school he has sat examinations for. Beth has become not only a mentor but a friend — our son loves the sessions and cannot wait for the next one.

James was absolutely wonderful and Peter (our son) tells me he is convinced that he was the tutor who made the crucial difference which helped him to get in to Cambridge. He seemed to anticipate exactly what questions and tests were likely to be requested. He helped with our son's confidence which was in shreds at the time. So I would give him more than 10/10 for content, attitude and flexibility.
