About Pirouz
I'm a current graduate student at Mills College, with a background in the arts. I received my first degrees in art and Persian Studies and focused my undergraduate work on printmaking and typography. I have tutored computer science students for one year, and love to illuminate the intersections between art, math, and computer programming. A strong background in visual art equips a student with a unique skillset which includes vocabulary and the ability to articulate concepts in ways which may not appear as immediate to a student with a strictly STEM academic foundation. I consider it an edge, and I'd be happy to help you with whatever lessons you might want help with!

What's important for me is that before getting into the meat of a session with a student, I get a feel for how they think. This feeling goes beyond acquired skills and says something about a students predispositions, and to an extent their personality. We'd frame a lesson based not only on the criteria at hand, but around your personality in order to accentuate strengths and identify weaknesses.
