About Lys
My name is Lys Rehema. I am a second-year student at Queen’s University studying Life Sciences and Biochemistry.
I have always been drawn to science because I like understanding how things work, and I tend to approach learning in a very structured and logical way. That mindset carries into how I help others learn as well.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading. It is something I naturally go back to, and it has helped me become more comfortable with language, especially when it comes to explaining ideas clearly.
French has always been a natural part of my life, and over time I started helping others with it through tutoring and translation. I value clarity, consistency, and real progress, and I try to keep my approach straightforward and effective.

My approach starts with a short assessment to understand your child’s current level, strengths, and areas that need improvement. I also take time to understand how they learn best so I can build a clear and personalized plan with realistic goals.
Each lesson is structured but flexible. We begin with a quick review, then focus on one or two key areas such as grammar, writing, or speaking. I include a mix of explanations, practice, and interactive activities to keep lessons engaging while making sure your child is truly understanding the material. We end with a short recap and, if needed, exercises to reinforce what was learned.
My lessons are designed to be both enjoyable and effective. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, while also maintaining high expectations in terms of effort and progress.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine strong language skills with a structured academic approach. As a native French speaker with experience in tutoring and translation, I focus on helping students build confidence, accuracy, and long-term success.
My lessons are suitable for elementary, high school, and university students, as well as anyone looking to improve their French for school or everyday use.
