I am a qualified TEFL ( Teaching English to Foreign Learners) teacher, who is based in Cape Town, South Africa. I teach all ages from beginners’ level up to C2 proficiency.

About Anastasia
I’ve been giving lessons for the past year, including teaching individuals to teaching large groups of 25 people. I’ve taught students from the age of 12 to 35, from beginners’ level to C2 level proficiency. Most of my students have passed with high percentages and have successfully moved onto to the next level of English learning. I teach students how to read, write and speak English, as well as improve any specific areas of concern that a student wants to improve.
The most practical experience I’ve had (when considering teaching over sea’s) is teaching English to Russian students for about 3 months in a city called Saratov, in Russia. I mostly taught older students from the age of 20 and upwards, focusing on listening skills, as well as speaking, writing and reading.

The teaching methodology that I use is the PPP method (Present, Practice and Production). First I will introduce (present) the English learning topic (or target language), for example Verbs. The topic (Verbs) will then be practiced by the students, through doing small activities. Lastly, production of the topic will entail the student applying it in spoken language, or written form such as a comprehension. I also follow the ESA method (Engage, Study and Activate) which is mostly made up of elicitation of the target language I'm teaching, as well as engagement with students regarding what is being taught. When regarding teaching groups of students, I will also use the method of placing students in small pairs, to enable students to strengthen their understanding through engagement with other students as well as through the practice of speaking and in turn understanding what is being said to you.
