About Leighann
Hello and thank you for considering me for tuition for yourself or for your child. I began my practice in the field of education in 2015, and have been employed full-time as a teacher of science in a variety of roles since. I have vast experience of working with students of all abilities, including those with SEND needs. I believe that one of the most important aspects of successful teaching is building excellent working relationships with young people. These relationships are built with mutual respect, trust and understanding. I have experience of working with students up to GCSE level in all three sciences. I am an experienced A level biology teacher, and an experienced examiner for A level biology with AQA.

Lessons with myself implement the pedagogy I have learnt throughout my experience as a fully qualified teacher, including that undertaken during my Master's degree and PGCE. Lessons are child-focused, and undertaken at a pace that suits the individual. Lessons run for 50 minutes, with a 10-minute consolidation period after to discuss the following lesson and any independent learning the student will need. I fully integrate the use of exam questions, verbal and written feedback and positive praise within every aspect of my teaching.
