About Mohammed
I am a qualified teacher and Deputy Headteacher with over 10 years’ experience in education and 15 years’ experience tutoring children and young people. I am also a King’s College London graduate and bring extensive experience of teaching, curriculum development, assessment and raising pupil achievement.
I teach Science from Primary through to GCSE, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics. My experience in education has given me a strong understanding of curriculum progression – not simply what pupils need to know for an examination, but the foundational knowledge they need to understand more complex scientific concepts later.
One of my strengths is identifying exactly where a pupil’s understanding has broken down. I enjoy taking concepts that initially seem difficult and making them clear, logical and accessible. I want pupils to move away from simply memorising Science and towards genuinely understanding it.
I tutor because I enjoy seeing the moment when something finally “clicks” for a pupil. Whether they need additional support, greater confidence or focused GCSE preparation, I provide patient, structured and ambitious teaching that helps every pupil work towards their full potential.

My Science lessons are carefully structured, engaging and tailored to each pupil’s individual needs, from Primary Science through to GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
With 15 years’ tutoring experience and over 10 years as a qualified teacher, I understand that strong results come from secure understanding rather than simply memorising facts. I quickly identify gaps and misconceptions, then break complex scientific concepts into clear, manageable steps.
Lessons begin with retrieval and recap of prior learning before moving into explicit teaching and modelling. I use a “my turn, our turn, your turn” approach: first modelling the thinking, then solving problems together before gradually building pupils’ confidence to work independently.
For GCSE pupils, lessons combine strong subject knowledge with exam technique. We work on applying knowledge to unfamiliar contexts, scientific vocabulary, calculations, required practicals, interpreting data and understanding exactly what exam questions are asking. Past-paper questions are used strategically to identify gaps and improve exam performance.
For Primary pupils, I focus on developing curiosity, secure scientific understanding and confident use of scientific vocabulary while ensuring lessons remain accessible and enjoyable.
Every lesson has a clear purpose: identify the gap, teach it explicitly, practise it together, apply it independently and revisit it until it sticks.
