About Mohammed
I am a qualified teacher and Deputy Headteacher with over 10 years’ experience working in education and 15 years’ experience tutoring children and young people.
Throughout my career, I have taught and supported pupils across a wide range of ages and abilities, giving me an excellent understanding of how children learn, where misconceptions develop and, most importantly, how to overcome them.
I graduated from King’s College London and have continued to develop my expertise throughout my teaching and leadership career. As a senior school leader, I have extensive experience in curriculum development, teaching and learning, assessment and supporting pupils to make strong academic progress.
Alongside my school leadership role, I continue tutoring because I genuinely enjoy working directly with pupils. One-to-one tuition allows me to identify exactly what a child needs and give them the focused teaching, encouragement and challenge that can be difficult to provide in a busy classroom.
Whether a pupil needs to rebuild their confidence, close gaps in learning, prepare for SATs or GCSE examinations, or simply wants to achieve at a higher level, my aim is to help them become confident, independent and successful learners.

My lessons are carefully structured, engaging and tailored to each pupil’s individual starting point. I begin by identifying gaps in knowledge and understanding, then build learning progressively so pupils experience success and develop genuine confidence.
For Primary pupils, I have extensive experience developing reading, comprehension, grammar, vocabulary and high-quality writing. I use proven approaches including Talk for Writing, helping children orally rehearse language, explore high-quality models, develop ideas and ultimately become confident, independent writers. I also provide focused KS1/KS2 and SATs preparation.
For Secondary and GCSE pupils, I teach English Language and English Literature, with a strong focus on comprehension, analysis, creative and transactional writing, essay structure, vocabulary, exam technique and producing high-quality responses under exam conditions.
Lessons follow a clear sequence: retrieval and recap → explicit modelling (“my turn”) → guided practice (“our turn”) → independent application (“your turn”). I continually check understanding, address misconceptions and adapt the level of challenge.
Most importantly, I want pupils to understand why an answer is successful rather than simply memorising what to write. My aim is to develop confident, independent learners who can transfer what they have learned to unfamiliar questions and ultimately succeed without needing a tutor.
