About Jordan
Hello! I'm Jordan, a qualified Science Teacher (QTS) with over seven years of experience teaching and tutoring GCSE and A Level students. I currently teach Science in a secondary school and specialise in helping students develop the knowledge, confidence and exam skills needed to achieve their potential.
Alongside teaching, I also work as a **GCSE and A Level Exam Marker** across the major exam boards. This gives me a valuable insight into exactly how examiners award marks, the mistakes students commonly make, and the techniques that help students gain those all-important extra marks in their exams.
I tutor **GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Combined Science**, as well as **A Level Biology**, supporting students studying AQA, OCR, Edexcel and other major UK exam boards. Whether you're aiming to move from a Grade 4 to a Grade 6, secure top grades of 8s and 9s, or achieve an A or A* at A Level, every lesson is tailored to your individual goals.
My teaching style is calm, supportive and structured. I believe students learn best when they understand *why* something happens rather than simply memorising facts. Lessons are interactive, engaging and designed to build confidence as well as knowledge, with regular exam-style practice and clear feedback so students always know how to improve.
Over the years, I've worked with students of all abilities, from those who have lost confidence in Science to high-achieving students preparing for competitive university courses. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing a student realise they're capable of far more than they first thought.
Outside of tutoring, I'm passionate about education and continually develop my teaching through my work in schools and as an exam marker, ensuring my students receive up-to-date guidance that reflects the latest specifications and examination standards.

Every student learns differently, so no two lessons are exactly the same. My approach is to build confidence first, then develop understanding, before finally mastering the exam skills needed to achieve the highest grades.
Each lesson is individually planned around the student's current level, school curriculum and exam board. I begin by identifying strengths and areas for improvement through discussion, retrieval practice and exam-style questions. Lessons are then tailored to close knowledge gaps, strengthen scientific understanding and improve exam technique using real GCSE and A Level questions.
My teaching is highly interactive, with students actively explaining concepts, solving problems and applying their knowledge throughout the lesson rather than simply listening. Regular retrieval practice, spaced revision and continual formative assessment help ensure learning is retained over time, while detailed feedback allows students to understand exactly how to improve.
Lessons are typically **60 minutes** long, although **90-minute sessions** are available for students who would benefit from more in-depth teaching or extended exam practice. Every lesson includes clear learning objectives, guided instruction, independent practice and opportunities to review progress. Where appropriate, students also receive additional revision resources and practice questions to consolidate their learning between sessions.
