About Cem
As a qualified secondary school teacher and Deputy Head of Year, I bring over five years of experience working with students across Key Stages 3 and 4. I currently teach Social Sciences in a London secondary school and have a strong background in supporting students of all abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
My teaching approach is focused on building confidence, developing subject knowledge, and improving exam performance. Lessons are carefully tailored to each student's individual needs and learning style, ensuring that they feel supported while being challenged to reach their full potential. I place a strong emphasis on exam technique, essay-writing skills, critical thinking, and effective revision strategies to help students achieve success in Religious Studies.
I am known for building positive relationships with students and creating an engaging learning environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. Through my experience as both a classroom teacher and Deputy Head of Year, I have developed excellent communication, organisation, and pastoral skills that enable me to support students not only academically but also in developing confidence and resilience.
My lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are suitable for Key Stage 3 and GCSE students (ages 11–16) looking to improve their understanding, boost their confidence, and achieve their target grades in Religious Studies.

My lessons focus on building strong subject knowledge, improving exam technique, and developing confidence in written responses. For GCSE Religious Studies, I use structured explanations, retrieval practice, exam-style questions, and model answers to help students understand key concepts and maximise marks in assessments.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes and will usually include a review of previous learning, teaching of new content, guided practice, and exam-focused application. I also provide revision strategies and personalised feedback to help students make consistent progress between lessons.
