About Katie
I am a qualified primary school teacher with five years of classroom experience, working with children across EYFS and Key Stage 1. During this time, I have taught all areas of the primary curriculum and supported children with a wide range of abilities and individual needs.
I have particular experience in early reading, phonics, English and maths, as well as helping children to build their confidence and develop a positive attitude towards learning.
I understand that every child learns differently and that one-to-one support can make a huge difference, particularly when a child needs a little more time, reassurance or a different way of explaining something.
I am friendly, patient and approachable, and my aim is for children to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing confidence in their own abilities.

I am a qualified primary teacher with five years of classroom experience, mainly teaching children in EYFS and Key Stage 1.
My approach is friendly, patient and tailored to the individual child. I like to find out what they are confident with, where they are struggling and how they learn best, then adapt each lesson accordingly.
I use clear explanations, modelling, practical examples and lots of guided practice before encouraging children to work more independently. I also try to keep sessions positive and engaging, especially for younger children who may have lost confidence in a subject.
Lessons would usually be around 45–60 minutes depending on the child’s age, concentration and needs.
I can support children with primary English and maths, including phonics, early reading, writing, number skills and general homework support. My main experience is with younger primary children, particularly EYFS and Key Stage 1, but I am happy to support children across the primary age range.
