About Amin
Hello, I'm Amin Parkes, a qualified Primary School Teacher with a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I currently teach Year 2 at a local primary school and have experience working across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
I am passionate about helping every child reach their full potential. I believe that with the right support, encouragement and high-quality teaching, all children can develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed. My lessons are tailored to each pupil's individual needs, creating a calm, positive and engaging learning environment where they feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes and grow in confidence.
Teaching is more than a profession to me — it's an opportunity to make a lasting difference. I still remember the Year 6 teacher who believed in me and inspired me to achieve more than I thought possible. That experience shaped my own approach to teaching and I strive to provide the same encouragement and belief to every child I work with.

As a qualified Primary School Teacher with a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), I have experience teaching across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. My lessons are tailored to each child's individual needs, whether they require support to build confidence, close learning gaps, or further challenge their abilities.
My teaching approach is based on the principles of a spiral curriculum, where new concepts are introduced in small, manageable steps and revisited regularly to strengthen understanding. I use a combination of explicit teaching, modelling, guided practice and scaffolded activities to ensure pupils develop secure foundations before progressing to more independent learning. Lessons are engaging, supportive and adapted to suit each child's pace, interests and learning style.
I tutor across a range of primary subjects, including maths, reading, writing and foundation subjects, with a focus on developing both subject knowledge and confidence.
Lessons are available in 30 or 60 minute sessions and are suitable for children aged 5–11 (KS1 and KS2). My aim is to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where every child feels supported to achieve their full potential and develop a genuine enjoyment of learning.
