About Fredrika
I am a qualified medical doctor (Cambridge University) currently undertaking a PhD research degree in Women’s Health and genetics at UCL. I am passionate about teaching and am qualified to teach via the UCL Arena One programme. During my PhD degree, I have taught science to A level students as part of the UCL summer school, biochemistry to undergraduate medical students as well as supported Masters level students towards the successful completion of dissertations and laboratory projects. I have further successfully supported several students with Medical School Applications, such as by giving feedback on personal statements and helping with BMAT preparation.

I have a friendly and supportive teaching style, often using examples from clinical medical practice to illustrate concepts and keep students engaged. I tailor my teaching to the individual needs of each student, such as by using audiovisual tools, illustrations, memory aids and other methodology according to what is most effective for each individual. I and want to see every student succeed and am passionate about trying to solve problems that may hinder a student from reaching their full potential, such as time management issues or particular learning variations e.g. dyslexia. I start my teaching with formulating clear learning goals in partnership with each student, thereby making progress measurable and goals transparent for everyone involved.
