About Miki
Hello! I'm Miki, and I've been living in Ballarat, Australia, for the past 4 years, originally from Ehime, Japan. After graduating from university, I have had the opportunity to work with major Japanese companies, language schools, and online platforms, both in Australia and Japan. I have successfully taught students from all over the world and from diverse backgrounds, including engineers, travelers, performers, professional athletes, expatriates, and more! I love the Japanese language; it is such an intriguing and distinctive language, and teaching Japanese is my true passion! I also believe that learning a language leads to understanding Japanese culture, different values, ways of thinking, and perspectives, which I admire and strive to convey to my students. It also helps you connect with Japanese people, making your life more enjoyable and enriching, and possibly broadening your future opportunities. I understand the challenges of language learning because I've faced them myself while studying English in New Zealand and now living in Australia. My goal is to support you through these challenges and help you achieve your learning goals! Looking forward to meeting you and starting your Japanese learning journey! On a personal note, I have a 1-year-old daughter, and I love coffee and watching movies. My hobbies include visiting cafes and brewing coffee at home. I recently started learning Korean. Although I'm still a beginner, I'm enjoying the process of learning a new language!

I have experience teaching at all levels, but my strengths are in conversation, grammar, and vocabulary, especially for beginners and intermediate students. What you can expect in my lessons: 1. Understanding the common errors that occur due to language interference between Japanese and English and providing English explanations when necessary. 6. Recommending appropriate study materials, such as textbooks or apps, to keep you motivated. 7. Supporting your self-study before and between lessons. I offer a structured class by offering easy-to-follow and fun lessons where you can feel relaxed and confident participating!
